The City of Monterey runs along the coast of Central California. The city of Monterey served as the capital of California from 1777 to 1849. A popular park in Monterey is the Lake El Estero Park. The park consists of several recreational activities such as paddle boats, a skate park, baseball diamond, and a special Dennis the Menace Park zone. The park also includes a donated 1924 locomotive steam engine. The park is also known for hosting several migrating birds.
